AI THAT RUNS IN EUROPE
Talos runs on Fixit infrastructure in Europe, on your own store's data. Here we explain which data it touches, where it stays, what the EU AI Act says and what we already do about it.
Your data. Your store. Our GPUs — in the EU.
Where the AI runs
Most AI assistants are a widget in front of someone else's API. Talos is not.
Our own infrastructure in the EU
The models answering your customers run on Fixit's GPU infrastructure in Europe. There is no default route to US AI APIs — not for chat, not for embeddings, not for images.
Grounded in your own data
The agent answers from your catalog, orders and knowledge base, per business. One store's data is never used to answer for another store.
External providers only if you choose
If you ask for it, an external provider (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Perplexity) can be enabled for your business. It is your decision, visible in the admin, and reversible at any time.
Which data it touches — and which it does not
Catalog and stock
Products, prices, sizes, colours, availability — through talos-connect (WordPress/WooCommerce, Magento 2, Shopify). This is your store's public data.
Orders without personal data
For analytics and attribution only the order number, status, dates and product lines are synced. Name, email, phone and address never leave the store.
Conversations
Conversations are stored so you can review them in the admin, improve the knowledge and measure results. The agent does not ask for or store personal details inside the conversation; for orders or contact it points to your channels.
Order verification
When a customer asks “where is my order”, verification (email/phone + number) happens in your own store, in real time. Talos shows only status and tracking and keeps none of the details.
Session cookie
The widget keeps a random session identifier (localStorage and the `talos_sid` cookie) so the customer finds their conversation again and what the chat brought can be measured. It is not personal data and does not identify a person.
Data subject rights
Deletion of conversations or business data on request; for Shopify the mandatory webhooks (customer data request / redact, shop redact) are supported. A data processing agreement (DPA) is available.
EU AI Act — what applies and what we already do
The AI Act is not an obstacle for an e-shop that uses AI properly. It is an advantage over anyone who does not.
Article 50: transparency
Customers must know they are talking to an AI. The Talos widget states it explicitly at the top of every conversation (“This is an AI assistant…”), in every store, with no configuration.
Audit trail for AI content
Product descriptions, SEO meta and articles generated by AI go through approval and are logged: who approved, when, with which model. You can prove what was written by AI and what by a human.
Human in the loop
The agent takes no decisions with legal consequences for the customer; it supports and recommends. Whenever a human is needed, it hands the conversation over with the full transcript.
Timeline
The AI Act's transparency obligations apply from August 2026. Stores running Talos already meet them — with no extra action from the merchant.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my customers' data leave the EU?
Not by default. The AI runs in the EU, orders are synced without personal data and conversations stay on Fixit infrastructure. Only if you enable an external provider does the conversation text reach it.
Do you train models on my data?
Not with customer or order data. Talos improves through our team's approved answers and synthetic data; each store's data serves only that store.
What do I need to change in my privacy policy?
A note that the store uses an AI assistant (Talos, Fixit E.E., Greece) for support and product recommendations, that conversations are stored and for how long, and the session cookie. We provide ready-made text.
Want the DPA, the privacy text or a conversation about the AI Act?
Send us a message — we reply with the documents and, if you wish, with a check of your own store.
